Its always great to tick a location off the long (very long) travel list but its even better when it turns out to be a truly fabulous holiday complete with gob-smacking scenery. Glen and I hired a car to get ourselves around the south part of the island and stayed in accommodation on farms. We saw some beautiful sights (glaciers, waterfalls and lagoons) and we drove through lava fields which made us feel like we were on the moon. We were even lucky enough to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights which was an amazing experience! They do say Iceland is the land of fire and ice.... we can definitely vouch for the ice!
