May 2008 - Lake District

Glen may have laughed at my inability to stay in London over a long weekend but by the end of our trip to the Lake District I think he'd come around to it at as good idea. We took off a little early on Friday to battle the infamous North-bound, long weekend traffic and it did, indeed, take us six hours to reach our B&B in Keswick. Saturday I dragged Glen up and across a mountain and tackled the amazing Striding Edge (not to mention the rock climb on the other side). Sunday we rested our weary legs with a drive around the many lakes and through many of the lovely towns. Monday we slowly made our way back to London and back to the rain after the warmth and sun of Northern England (who'd have thunk it!)
